About Me

Hello New Classmates!!!!
My name is Brandon Smith and I have lived in Doylestown Pa for my whole life. I attended private schools for my entire grade school and high school career. For grade school I went to St. Andrew School in Newtown Pa and for high school I went to Archbishop Wood High School. These were some of the best years of my life because I got the chance to make new friends and get a very good education. I have one older sister who also attended Penn State Abington and a younger brother who is a junior at Archbishop Wood. Some of the things that I like to do is hang out with friends, play a pickup game of basketball whenever I get the chance and I like to work on and learn about anything automotive. To me cars are very interesting, and I would like to hopefully one day make a career out of them. Maybe even own my own business working on and restoring cars. I am employed at Giant Food Stores where I stock shelves and am trained in various other departments. Giant is where I was able to meet some of the best people that I could have ever met, and they are all not only co-workers, but I like to look at them as best friends. I mean if you’re going to have to deal with people for eight hours every day you better like being around them. At this point in my college career I think I am set as to what I want to study and that is business management.

Brandon Smith English 015 2-14-19 Letter to the Editor The issue I will be responding to is minimum wage  (https://www.pennlive.com/opinion/2019/02/pennsylvania-in-dire-need-of-a-minimum-wage-increase-opinion.html) LTE #1 Dear Editor, While reading through your article on pennlive about wanting to raise the minimum wage to $15/hr I would like to respectfully disagree with you. As a college student reading this you would think that I would want the minimum wage to be increased, but I am part of the population that disagrees with you. Allow me to explain why I think this way.  Firstly, I believe minimum wage is just supposed to be a start for a first job for high school and college students. It is not supposed to be something that you are able to support a family on.
